Learning Initiatives for Employment is a Community Interest Company set up to assist, support and create opportunities for individuals to identify, obtain and move forward in education, employment and training. Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals to live life to the full and utilise EVERY opportunity presented to them. Through LIFE, individuals, communities and organisations are able to overcome barriers to learning, employment and training and gain credible skills, experience and knowledge to achieve their full potential.
LIFE was originally created in 2001 whilst working with individuals who were excluded from school and were experiencing low self-esteem, a serious lack of self-confidence and who felt they had no future prospects. Our work with those individuals resulted in re-building their confidence and supporting them in re-entering education, attending advanced training programmes and finding employment and for some, self-employment.
Now, LIFE works with Her Majesty’s Prison Service, community organisations and schools across the UK delivering bespoke programmes to channel energies and innovation amongst their respective client group. Our unique range of programmes is matched only by our expert and qualified staff who deliver in an authentic and empowering style.
We are determined to make a change in people’s lives irrespective of their; age, gender, ethnic or financial background and we therefore work specifically with those who are disadvantaged or find themselves in situations where they feel they cannot move forward. Our recent work with Her Majesty’s Prison Service at Featherstone has seen prisoners use their creativity to produce a product which can save the lives of thousands of people and is now being sold globally.
